As someone who besides has a sense of taste for crab cakes...

Aye, they are "bad" for y'all. Basically you are dealing with a heap of mayonaise, egg, and presumably crab meat (preferably big lumps), all cooked in oil or butter. Recipes vary a lot.

The crab has cholestrol and at that place is fat in the other stuff. In moderation, there is zero wrong with crabs and crab cakes. In fact, it would not be the summer (in my mind) unless one attends an outdoor crab feast and drinks beer.

Bad of course. Only swallow them when soft shells aren't in flavor!

true merely virtually the cholesterol I heard that it doesn't become absorbed as easily without the added help of saturated fat so things like crab and shrimp weren't too much to worry about because they are depression in sat fat. Is this true?

It all depends on how many yous eat. How many per day are we talking about here? And are you overweight already?

If they are fried in olive oil, that would exist one kind of damage control.

if you lot don't consume foods with natural cholestrol your body will produce more cholestrol and so usual. as long as the oil is just apparently oil or butter yo uare fine. but I bet they accept a lot of calories.

Why not brand your ain? Then you could put healthy stuff in them, the commercial ones tend to have all kinds of cheap fillers.

I agree totally: the ones I make have nearly no mayo (and what I apply is the low fat type), real breadcrumbs (real whole grian staff of life, no wonder bread), egg, and I fry them in a LITTLE olive oil (don't forget the old bay and taasco). That said, they are still fried, only due to the cost of good crab backfin meat, we don't have them enough. The pre-fabricated crabcakes you purchase in your local grocery stores are not crabcakes at all. Generally merely fried bread crumbs, grease and a very little crab meat of dubious origin.
